There's a film review by Howie Movshovitz on Colorado Public Radio that's pretty scathing.  I wouldn't try to share it with students, but provides some talking points if you're reading/debating the book with your classes.  Especially the beginning of the review contrasting the book/film to To Kill a Mockingbird.
