Listen and Learn is the website of a music therapist, Rachel Rambach, who shares songs from her songbook/CD as mp3s. The songs are perfect for younger elementary kids, have catchy tunes and words.

Check out this amazing reading comprehension resource:
http://reading.ecb.org/

I've only delved into the kids' portion so far, but I'm amazed!!! I'm thinking this will be the perfect thing for my small reading groups--definitely 2nd grade, possibly 3rd. Some years I've had incredibly high 1st that could handle it, too.

Hey Folks,

If you didn't get a chance to read about Marek's international comics exchange between elementary students in Nicaragua and New Hampshire - take a gander. He drew a fascinating and inspiring comics journal about the project.

Click here for the full story - loaded with fun pictures!

Have you already heard about Spelling City? It rocks my socks!!

They have geography: http://www.spellingcity.com/geography-lists.html
They have two math-related games that combine it with reading:

You might be interested in reading about UNESCO's call for an international Media Literacy Curriculum in the Media Education Discussion Forum - there's also an interesting blurb there about a French proposal to put warning labels on photoshopped models in magazines. Both articles were forwarded to me via Media Literacy Clearinghouse guru and MC Popper Frank Baker.

Enjoy! RRG:)
