I'm looking for input from educators in grades 6-12 about things they do to create multiculturalism in their classes. What events, people, or books do you study that incorporate diverse thinking?
I am looking for engaging short stories, speeches, poems, or a section from a longer text on the theme of REVOLUTION to use for a 10th grade English class. THe students are English Language learners who are studying revolution in global history. Most read at a 2nd-5th grade level. I am particularly interested in finding something related to the Mexican Revolution, but the texts could be related to any revolutionary movement, although I would prefer to stay away from the American Revolution. Please send ideas! Texts that more challenging than 5th grade are OK, too. Thanks.
