GSU READ-4232

For the students in READ 4232 @ Georgia Southern University!

  • Ashley Coleman

I could use nings to allow my students to interact in a suitable, academic environment. They could collaborate to on ideas. I could also post homework assignments.
  • Haley Asche

Nings is a great way to have a social network but allow your students to be involved. I think using face book can be dangerous with your students but this is a great way to connect with them.
  • Brittany Bright

I would use a ning in my future classroom to communicate with parents. I could have the schedule of what we are doing in class and list what their homework is for parents to see. I would also use this as a contact for parents to ask me questions.
  • Alicia Rae Thompson

I would use Nings within my classroom to allow students to communicate with other students around the world. They could discuss various issues as well as collaborate with other classmates to complete assignments or classroom activities.
  • Bridget McLaughlin

We could use Nings in our classroom as a way to post homework assignments and have students ask eachother questions about the homework to work collaboratively. This way if a student were to leave their notebook with their course calender at school they could check the assignments and discuss with their peers.
  • Whitney Mileski

I see using Nings in my future classroom by creating a group for my classes and have the students create an account. Then I could post reminders, homework, or help them with questions they may have over certain material. It would be a way for students to contact me anytime and not have to wait until the next school day.
  • Kadi

I visualize myself using Nings in my future classroom by having my students create their own Nings. This would be a fun and motivating way to keep students engaged in writing. I also would have an account between my students and myself for the same reason.
  • Bailey Osborne

I would use Nings to get more ideas and information for lessons. Several of the group pages have raps, cartoons and video clips. I think these would be great to get students into the lesson and material, or be supplemental to the lesson.
  • Stevie Marshall

I would use this to have my students post comments about the reading. I could post several questions and have the students fill in their answers. the students can even use the Ning as a way of communicating with each other.
  • Julie Bishop

I would use this as a class website where the students could go on check assignments that are posted along with discuss any on going assignments. It would be a way for the class to keep connected when not in school.
  • Corinne Findley

I think nings are a great resource for teachers to collaborate. They can create their own groups so that teachers can get ideas from each other.
  • Daryl Cowins

I would implement Ning by using it like a facebook or myspace amongst students in my class. The interaction will have to be appropriate and the only discussion between me and my students would be strictly related to school. The interaction between students could be anything as long as it's not inappropriate

We could use Nings within the context of the classroom to communicate with each other outside of the classroom setting. The discussion forum could be used in a manner similiar to our routine discussion posting on Georgia View. We could also use this site within our other courses as well. The social networking site is more appealing.
  • Heidi L

I would set up a ning for my students and they could post questions for each other as well as 'content appropriate' links or videos. This could amount to some very interesting discussion for class!
