    Hi Kim,
    The books Ryan was talking about are called "A History of US" by Joy Hakim. There are 11 total. Hakim bascially took every interesting story about historical people, places and things and put them into a fun non-fiction narrative. The kids love them. The district bought us two class sets to share per grade level, so it is not something I use everyday. :)

    Why this project interests you: I've taught about the Holocaust; I've written an interdisciplinary unit for middle schoolers on it; I've attended special seminars on the Holocaust; I believe we simply must continue to teach about it even as our survivors dwindle.
