Making Curriculum Pop

Welcome the smallest MC POPPER (by birth, not interest) Téa Lauren Goble born 9.25.10 at 1:21pm - 6 lbs. 15oz., 20 inches.

The first thoughts posted here on baby Téa were my personal paranoias about princess-ness - but so far she's been a sweet baby that has been keeping mommy and daddy busy. We have already noticed that Téa's a HUGE Miles Davis fan. Any version of his song "All Blues" - with the proper rhythmic bounce/swing/sway- can put her to sleep in UNDER 5 minutes!

For those folks wondering about the name, it is not tea like the drink, although her nickname is already Sweet Tea. It is Téa (Tay-ah) like the actress Téa Leoni or author Téa Obrecht with an é like the one in Reneé. We were inspired to use the name after we met a young and distant cousin Thea (Tay-ah) in Norway. We were just diggin' the Téa spelling more. Of course, we've now put Téa in a situation where she will spend most of her life teaching people how to make accents on US computers (FWIW for Mac/PC, and iPhones) and how to properly pronounce her name. We just hope she ends up liking it.

Téa/Thea/Theia is the goddess of sight, shining light and the clear blue sky and the creator of the sun, moon and stars. There is also a bit about her brother being her husband, but, in the words of Billy Wilder at the end of Some Like It Hot "Nobody's Perfect," eh?

Here is a fun photo slideshow for people who dig babies!

What a lucky child to have such a proud papa! If all children were born so auspiciously, the world would be richer.

She's absolutely beautiful! I love the dark hair and the sweet smile for her mommy and daddy. Isn't parenthood wonderful?! Don't worry, you will never have it completely figured out...but that's OK. She is your greatest gift from God. He has blessed you abundantly!
My best to the family-
