BOOK: Rethinking Popular Culture and Media

Hi!! I can't remember who recommended this book to me (it may well have come up on this Ning), but I got Rethinking Popular Culture and Media by Elizabeth Marshall and Ozlem Sensoy (ed.) from my library this summer since I have more time for professional reading. It was immensely interesting reading and challenged me in terms of the way I bring media into my classroom, the books I booktalk and use in classes, and how I think about various people groups in general. It's a collection of articles and essays, so you wouldn't have to read it cover to cover unless you wanted to. It addresses educators from elem. all the way through high school and touches on nearly all subject areas as well. Highly recommended!!
