It doesn't matter what country this little girl came from.  It matters that war changed her life and her family's life forever.  Azzi is a refugee, and in her voice, students can hear the plight of refugees.  I believe that is important for young students to connect to current events in an authentic way.  This is a "universal" refugee story.  Brilliant!
