 octorate in German Literature and a Chair in the “Pedagogy of Langua
 ge and Literature” within the German Department of Bamberg Universit
 y. He has conducted and published research on literary learning and on
  the writing and reading skills of students of all ages. His books inc
 lude an influential introduction to teaching German literature (Litera
 turdidaktik Deutsch, Erich Schmidt Verlag 2009). Another recent public
 ation is on the use of film in the teaching of German.\n \n
