Hey Angela, Thank you for sharing that - do consider moving it up above into the discussion forum above so it has a URL - things posted here on the wall tend to get buried over time!

Here's a great web site for those of you who might be interested in using comics to teach ELL.  Brian Boyd teaches in Thailand.  He's posted tons of free resources for language arts teachers.

Hi Kathy - this is a great question. Unfortunately, big questions on the comment wall are not easy for folks to respond to and get buried over time.

Would you consider moving this questino above in the discussion forum? When you post your ? above your "affinity group" peeps can give you feedback. Because forum ?s have URLs it will be in there for the next person with a similar ? AND I can broadcast the question to the whole Ning on crowdsource Tuesday.

Ry:)
Thanks to both of you for getting in the mix - as always - please share more cool ?'s and ideas!

I'm looking for some new/fresh ideas on how to teach Don Quijote.  We've done the draw a picture to describe what took place in that episode.  We've acted out the episodes.  We've drawn cartoons to replicate the action (using more basic and current vocabulary).   We have also written our own episode (as well as acted it out, taped it and watched the new episodes in class).    I have a crossword puzzle in the works for the review of a future episode.   We've also watched a movie and discussed from there as well.  However, I do not want us to fall into the read/talk rut.  I'd love to hear your ideas on how to mix this up a bit.   Thanks!

I am teaching English in Japan and am stuck on the subjunctive. I teach an Oral Communications class, which is the real problem. It's one thing to give grammar rules and have the students do rote memorization and then fill out worksheets, but how do I get them using the subjunctive in conversation, in class?
