Re comics and films, I would recommend Scott Pilgrim vs the World, both comic and cinematic formats. Also the claymation movies of Jan Svankmajer (and to some extent The Brothers Quay) are interesting as animated combinations of comic book sensibility and film. Wd love to see what you have come up with.
