Most teachers teach with film and video, but many may not know how to “read” a film. Film is a language that all students should know and understand. Join media educator and NCTE consultant Frank W. Baker for full day look at where film fits into the Common Core Standards. You will leave more comfortable incorporating film into instruction and learn about new and valuable resources. (Included in this workshop: a look at the new Frank Baker Media Literacy Collection, including more than 500 film resources available for checkout)

Media literacy is one of the 21st century skills all students need. Media education consultant Frank W. Baker will examine and discuss media literacy and its place in 21st century teaching standards. The hands-on workshop will include a look at the new media literacy book collection available for checkout. Participants will leave with new ideas and resources for educational use.
