Making Curriculum Pop

Great Resource for Cultural connections in literature and the humanities curriculum.

In an earlier message I inadvertently sent information about the Triangle Fire Video ( that works well with Ashes of Roses) from this link, but I meant to send the home page that has the links to the various programs Primary Source offers.. Here it is with my apologies. their next book club selection is The Red Umbrella about growing up during the Castro regime in Cuba.

I did this lesson and it was great.
It is a wonderful resource. Did you use Triangle or Red Umbrella? They have a couple of other novels they are suggesting as great multicultural studies too. One is on Burma & child soldiers, another on the revolution in Ethiopia, and another about  a teen's transition to life in America from China , more or less as an indentured employee in a sweatshop owned by family members.
Triangle and there's a great video that went with it.
