Making Curriculum Pop

Hello all!  It's been a while, but I have been finishing my master's degree in comics and have moved across the country back to my lovely home town of Denver, Colorado.  I have also gotten significantly involved with 5280 the comic book classroom, a non-profit here in Denver promoting the value of comics for all ages.  They can be found at 5280comicbookclassroom.org.  Their biggest news of the year for those of you not in the Colorado area to attend the workshops though, is the Denver Comic Book Convention and Rocky Mountain Conference on COmics and Graphic Novels.  I know we are looking for guests and people to populate both the convention and the conference.  There is more information at denvercomiccon.com  Please check it out and come make Denver's first stand alone comic convention in over a decade a success!  Link here with any questions or comments.

My Best to you,

Jessica and I will be touring next summer to promote Mastering Comics (Drawing Words & Writing Pictures, volume 2), and this could fit in our schedule. Are you (or the organizers) in touch with Gina at First Second? I believe she'll be planning our travel (as well as other First Second authors). Let me know if you need contact info.

best,

Matt

Matt,

Matt,

Excellent!  I can't wait for Mastering Comics. I believe I heard that a friend of mine, Chris Schweizer is providing some information for that book (a chapter or section on tangents).  His lecture on that is great.  I would love to have both you and Jessica there.  Your long list of educational comic credentials would also be welcome at the literary conference as well I am sure.  I am not currently in contact with Gina at first second, but would love to get in touch with her to see about getting you two out here to Colorado.  Plus, if you haven't been to Colorado, it's a trip worth making.  Hopefully we'll hear from you soon.  And feel free to email me any contact information for yourselves or Gina that you can and are willing to provide to jpeteranetz@gmail.com.

Thanks again,

Jay Peteranetz
