Thanks for sharing, Ryan! This looks like an interesting read. I'd argue that the progressive superhero never really left (exhibit A: http://www.avclub.com/article/controversial-captain-america-sam-wil...), but there certainly have been an addition of differing characters who have not just been conservative straw people (like The Ultimates version of Captain America, who is sort of a caricature, too...). Any way, thanks for making me get another book :p
