Making Curriculum Pop

I recently did two guest blogs on this topic for Dr. Rick of Sylvan Learning.

The first provides a rationale and is a bit polemical: http://www.drrickblog.com/post/2009/11/30/The-Case-for-Adding-Graph...

BTW, it was picked up and commented on by Wired's GeekDad blog: http://www.wired.com/geekdad/2009/12/why-you-should-read-comics-alo...(Blog+-+GeekDad)

Here's the follow-up, which is more practical:

Peter, as always, thank you so much for sharing!!!

Ryan:)
Peter, this is so great. If only there was an easier way than using a document camera to read them aloud to whole classes!! (Seriously, the doc camera is fine, but it's not nearly as cosy as having the kids sit in our tiered story area and listen to a picture book.) I bet soon enough there will be awesome ways to read comics to whole groups!!
Thanks so much, Kelly. Appreciate your support -- as always.

And I agree, comics read-alouds best for one-on-one's or small groups of less than four if reading from original printed page.
