Making Curriculum Pop

Many years ago, I created a website called MATH IN THE MEDIA- because I wanted to give math educators some ideas about incorporating "numbers in the news." On that website, I developed an idea for a lesson around prime time TV ratings. Now, Advertising Age (the magazine of the industry) has just posted the costs of a 30-second ad during prime time television. This is an interesting look at not only what an ad costs, but which shows, up to this point in time, are the most watched. So on my site, click on the link for "30 Second Ad Costs" to see not only the 2009-2010 ad rates, but also an historical look at where prime time ad rates have gone.
