books to use
Because I teach media education courses and Journalism courses, and am moving into more journalism in TV and Radio formats with the on-line technologies available, I come across books frequently that are in this vein.
Today I am happy to recommend BRAODCAST NEWS by Ted White. published by Focal Press.
Several chapters are really relevant to the on-air kind of news reporting you might be getting your kids to do.

No Frank, not so much. I do like his chapters on specialized reporting...i.e. weather, science beat, sports (should be a whole chapter or a thesis maybe on that one, and I think I have seen one recently. lol) a good chapter on investigative reporting....
