Making Curriculum Pop

For a chapter in a new book, I am seeking K-12 educators who are successfully incorporating new media for the purpose of teaching "media literacy" to their students.  You can reach me via email  fbaker1346@aol.com   Please send details of your lesson including links to specific national and/or state standards. I will determine if I can use your lesson/activity/idea in a followup email or telephone conversation.  Thanks.  Frank W. Baker, Media Literacy Clearinghouse

Frank I didn't see this until today - it will be CSed next week!

Frank, Ryan and I are working on this very topic. We're working on an article to be published, which references a unit I teach every year to 6th graders. What we do in that unit pretty much sums up what you're asking for!! If you'd like to contact me (and Cc Ryan as well), my e-mail is kfarrow@dg58.org . Sorry it took me so long to reply to this; I let my Ning folder in my e-mail get super backed up!!

I believe that Canada requires instruction in Media Literacy. You might start by searching for some of Canada's curricular materials, or start with this site http://www.media-awareness.ca/english/index.cfm and see where it leads.
