Rare Medium is Well Done: Finding McLuhan in NYC

New York City is a constant world of discovery for me. I rarely get to visit there. I know a few landmarks, such as Penn Station or the Empire State Building, but it seems to me, with a whopping three visits to NYC, that The Big Apple is always a wonderful world of discovery.   

One of the discoveries that I made this time was The Strand Bookstore. Located about 13^th and Broadway, it’s just down the street from Union Square, which on this Saturday, was going strong as a market place. It was baking hot, hitting close to a hundred degrees in the city during this trip. Those at the market were cooling themselves by putting bottles of chilled water to their foreheads.

 

The bookstore has an ad slogan that says,
