I have been watching a fair bit of television from APTN. The Aboriginal People’s Television Network was launched in Canada in 1999, to be “run, developed and produced by minority people for a nation-wide audience.” This uniquely Canadian TV network has to contend with viewers who want programming in English, French and the myriad of indigenous languages spoken by the First Nations peoples spread across the ten thousand kilometers (six thousand miles) that is Canada.
