Where do Media Images Come From?

Frank Baker hipped me to this interesting clip on media education & political. Dr. Robert Kubey (Rutgers University) discusses smear tactics used in political campaigns, media bias, and bringing the idea of skepticism and media literacy in the classroom. He looks at presidential politics, and takes a detour into issues of genetics & ethics. From there he moves into issues of semiotics, media education around the world and power of perception/stereotypes.

For history teachers he takes a historical look the process starting with smear campaigns agains Jackson & Lincoln.

Certainly, worth a listen...
