I have a larger Math Resource collection that I will be sharing in short order. In the meantime, perhaps you had a chance to watch the PBS Special: The Great Math Mystery (NOVA)? Building on this I read a little op-ed in the local paper "Was math invented or discovered?" The article had the following suggestions from the Schaumburg Township District Library kidsZone:
• "Wild Fibonacci: Nature's Secret Code Revealed" by Joy N. Hulme and Carol Schwartz
• "Ancient Computing (Ancient Technology)" by Michael Woods
• "The History of Counting" by Denise Schmandt-Besserat
•"The Boy Who Loved Math: The Improbable Life of Paul Erdos" by Deborah Heiligman
• "Fun with Roman Numerals" by David A. Adler
