Making Curriculum Pop

This is an amazing collection of real historical color photos from the Depression. Not only would it work well for a novel study or history class; it would also be an excellent addition to any photo analysis and visual literacy lessons.

Thank you for sharing; these are incredible!

Readers of this post may also be interested in a one-hour documentary that has been previously broadcast by PBS. "Documenting the Face of America" is actually the story of Roy Stryker, the man in charge of the Farm Services Administration's photography project and who hired the photographers, many of whom are household names. I recommend the doc to any educator who teaches visual literacy or uses Depression-era images in instruction. When this doc was first released, I created a viewer's guide with questions and resources. I hope this information is useful and helpful.
