RESOURCE: Video booktalk for geek-themed fiction

Hi! I had a great time making this video over the holiday break. If this could be of benefit for booktalks or classes, please feel free to use it! It gives a short overview of 5 books whose main characters could be seen as geeks/nerds. My main goal with the video, besides getting kids excited about these specific titles, is to encourage the nerds among us that there is hope for the future!! Though they may not feel super cool at this stage in their lives, things can often change, as the song indicates. Please enjoy!!

Love the video, Kelly!  Thanks.  I was just in the process of making a Smart Notebook presentation for my students who have to create their own video book talks in the next few weeks.  I will show your video as an example and for inspiration.  I personally loved Out of My Mind and Schooled.   Gordon Korman visited our campus a couple of years ago.

So glad you liked it!  :)  How cool to have hosted Korman! We've had some great authors over the years, too, but he would be the perfect one for that 4th-6th age group.
