Making Curriculum Pop

I love this TED video where Bobby McFerrin demonstrates how  our brains are innately wired to the pentatonic scale. I know it's focus is music, but do you think that this would be a good video to use as a jumping off point for a discussion on rhythm with my eighth graders?

Hi Joe - this is a great video - to use that embed code you need to switch from "visual" to "html" mode in the text editor. If you click on the option "edit" tab up in the upper right hand corner

you should be able to edit it so we can see the vid right away!  Thanks so much for joining the discussions - great resource!

Joe - thanks for the edit - I'll delete our convo here and share in the WIR!
No prob. Any thoughts on the theory behind it? Is there a parallel between the ideas in the video and the idea of rhythm in poetry - that like the pentatonic scale we innately can sense the rhythm of what we read? I'm trying to draw an appropriate parallel and coming up blank.
