Making Curriculum Pop

I am looking for a list or suggestions of songs that might be used to set the mood at the start of lessons on common media lit topics.

For example, I found a John Jackson song: "Cookie Jar" which is a great song to set the stage for a discussion on violence.

Can anyone suggest other good songs to play before the following topics or others:
I would prefer catchy or recognizable songs:

Advertising
Body Image
Obesity
Internet
Video Games
Attention/Cognition
Educational media
Sexuality
Alcohol
Drugs

You mean Jack Johnson, yeah?
Body Image: "Creep" by Radiohead, "She's Falling Apart" by Lisa Loeb, "Beautiful" by Christina Aguilera, "Stand Still, Look Pretty" by The Wreckers, "Crazy" by Simple Plan
Advertising: "Unilever" by Chumbawambda
Sexuality: "Homophobia" by Chumbawamba; "I Kissed a Girl" by Katy Perry; "Lola" by The Kinks
Educational Media: News bias--"British Colonialism and the BBC" by Chumbawamba
Alcohol: "The Little Girl" by John Michael Montgomery...a drunken father abuses his family.
Not sure what you would want for attention/cognition...

Unfortunately I can't give you much popular songs from the U.S., but Chumbawamba is still pretty popular in the U.K. for anarchists and liberals. They make superbly quality music. It's unfortunate that people only think of "Tubthumping" over here in the U.S. That was the most commercialized and watered down album.
body image .."unpretty" by TLC --if you can find the music video it's even better
These are great suggestions! Yeah, I mean Jack Johnson, I always forget the details. Thanks for the tips. I'll check these out.
I just discovered another about body image...from Amy Macdonald's newest release (March 8) called A Curious Thing. The song is "This Pretty Face."
When I Was A Boy - Dar Williams -- I've used it for years when I introduce our study of gender construction. I teach at an all girls' school and it works beautifully.
