Making Curriculum Pop

The high school where I teach was just built in 2006, and the design and architecture were thoroughly researched and considered before the building process began. It is an open classroom school, and collaboration is greatly encouraged. Even the auditorium is an open area in the middle of the first floor. Our classrooms have only three walls, and we interact with other teachers much more frequently than in the high schools in which I have previously taught.

This article has some interesting information about the history of the open classroom, if anyone is interested in considering the pros and cons of such a school design: http://educationnext.org/theopenclassroom/
