Caught this interesting story at the Hechinger Report...

I have not quite wrapped my head around the Pubic Lab website (not super elegant) but their idea of affordable DYI lab work in conjunction with other organizations is pretty cool. I think their store is an interesting place to get a feel for their work - but I don't know. If anyone has worked with them it would be cool to hear more.
