Making Curriculum Pop

CURRICULA: Free A&E 'Biography' Study Guides + 'Save Our History' Teachers Manuals!

In the early aughts I dated a woman who worked in the A&E/The History Channel's education department. As a result I got to see lots of cool films and check out all the A&E History Channel study guides. I've got to tell you, the stuff isn't perfect BUT they are awesome resources to jump start your teaching.

Over the years A&E has uploaded most of their study guides here - this includes all the folks featured on Biography.

Also, theie Idea Book is a pretty cool biannual mag (for A&E and The History Channel) for teachers loaded with, well ideas. That is available for free here too.

I copied and pasted the descriptions of the more involved "Save Our History" teachers guides below.

Historians and other educators at The History Channel are creating multidisciplinary teacher's manuals, available to educators on a complimentary basis. Each manual features primary sources, portfolio projects, vocabulary, and creative activities.
