Making Curriculum Pop

In 2006, Ray Arsenault's book "Freedom Riders: 1961 and the Struggle for Racial Justice” was published and on May 16, the story of the riders will be told on PBS' “American Experience.”  As usual, public television has created a content-rich website with plenty of background and educational resources. Be sure to see the teacher guide which is also available on the educator site.  National Public Radio previously produced a nice backgrounder featured on its website.  The New York Times has also produced a photo slideshow of the Freedom Riders: Now & Then.
