For those of you who are not familiar with the magazine Teaching Tolerance, the create some wonderful curricula and films to help explore issues of identity with students.

I think the collection of F-R to the E-E films is the most impressive - they have materials for every age group..

Some of the titles:

Viva La Causa
This short documentary film and accompanying teacher’s guide explore one of the great movements for social justice in the U.S. — the Grape Strike and Boycott led by César Chávez and Dolores Huerta. Grades 7 and up.

Mighty Times: The Children’s March
This Academy Award®-winning documentary film and accompanying resources tell the heroic story of the young people in Birmingham, Ala., who brought segregation to its knees.

Mighty Times:
The Legacy of Rosa Parks This Emmy Award-winning documentary film and accompanying resources bring the Montgomery Bus Boycott alive for today’s students. Grades 5 and up.

One Survivor Remembers
This Academy Award®-winning documentary film tells the empowering story of Holocaust survivor Gerda Weissman Klein. The kit includes primary documents drawn from Klein’s private collection, along with a teacher’s guide and resource booklet.
Grades 8 and up.
