One of the four remaining copies of the 1215 Magna Carta will be on display at Fraunces Tavern Museum in New York City, from September 15 - December 15, 2009, in "Magna Carta and the Foundations of Freedom." This is one of the most important legal documents in the history of democracy and is on loan from England, which has possessed it since 1215. The exhibit will feature additional historic documents including broadsides of the U.S. Constitution, Declaration of Independence and Bill of Rights and will explore the freedom struggles of the people of America.
