from The History Channel: Many Americans feel as if they know their President. We follow him during the campaign, invite him into our living rooms during countless televised appearances and even learn about his cholesterol count after each annual physical. But the truth is, we know very little about what it's like to be the President. Very few people in the world can answer the questions you've always wondered about but never been able to ask: Can the President order a pizza? Is the President ever alone? Does the President ever get to drive a car? What is a typical day like when you are President?
It's Good to be the President (Thursday, September 29th at 4am ET /3am CT) trades the typical slate of domestic and foreign policy questions asked of and about Presidents for something surprising -- an entertaining conversation about the perks and perils of being the nation's foremost leader. Featuring interviews with past presidents, rarely seen recordings and home movies, this 2-hour special explores the day-to-day lives of our Commanders-in-Chief. This program would be a fun and engaging addition to civics and political science course units.
(NOTE: this program airs NOT in the afternoon, but in the early morning hours--and it is a 90 minute doc spread out over a 2 hour time period...with commercials no doubt)
