Premieres Sunday, November 15th at 9/8c (The History Channel)
Airs on 5 Consecutive Nights, November 15th-19th

WWII IN HD is a landmark series presentation premiering on HISTORY on November 15th. This special series presents the story of the war through the eyes of 12 Americans who fought in or contributed to the World War II effort. Between them, they represent different branches of the service and each of the major theaters of war. Their stories are told through amazing archival footage gathered from a worldwide search through basements and archives, presented in full immersive HD color.

Diaries, journals, interviews and Dolby “soundscape” are incorporated to enhance these striking visuals. WWII IN HD transforms a war that many Americans know only through black-and-white newsreel footage into something viscerally real and newly relevant. This is history from a profoundly human point of view. From the dispatches of war reporters and soldiers from diverse backgrounds, to the valiant work of nurses, to those working hard back at home, these stories capture the immensity of the war for those who lived through it, and those who perished in battle. Educators and students will be able to gain new insights into the meaning and significance of this transformative era in world history.
