Ben Lee has released en entire album called The Rebirth of Venus with themes of sexuality, gender role, and identity. You can find lyrics here.

 

My favorite is "Boy with a Barbie," a fantastic criticism of gender roles and their social taboos. It's so sad, and it even touches on educators. It can make a teacher realize that he/she may not do enough to support or comfort every child, especially at young ages.

 

Hope you can incorporate some of these into your lessons! I've found them to be great sources with catchy tunes. Ben Lee is starting to catch on here in the U.S...
