NEW RATINGS: Bechdel Test & Swedish Film Ratings + COOL CHART!

In Sweden their new film rating system will include the Bechdel test - named after the Graphic Novelist Alison Bechdel (if you have not read Fun Home: A Family Tragicomic it is a classic of the genre).

The Nov 29th, 2013 issue of Entertainment Weekly had some fun with said test (this is a scan as they don't put a lot of stuff online):

I think is a really progressive way to rate movies. But you know, Sweden does a great job thinking these things through - my fav NYT article on this: "In Sweden, Men Can Have It All.”

Of course, this comes with a double dog dare to use the Bechdel test for the texts in your classes!
