What 5 essential pop culture artifacts (CDs, DVDs, Books, Images, Toys, etc.) would you have on your desert island?
The Bible (transcends pop culture for sure!), any They Might be Giants CD the island gatekeepers would allow, the Harry Potter series, a Lichtenstein print (Brushstroke with Spatter), and a hymnal.
Awww Shucks Kelly - glad your still finding this useful....nice photo flip - ok so I found a video you'd like but first I must tell you - just yesterday I got tickets to go see TMBG at a small little club where they'll be playing FLOOD in its entirety. There are some perks to this NYC thing.
Re: your profile - have you considered the Graphic Novel version of the Bible - duhh?
Also found this Graphic Novel at a weirdo comic shop - not clear if it is getting US distribution:

and lastly a video for you....
The 21st-Century Librarian
School librarians like Stephanie Rosalia have transformed into multi-faceted information specialists who guide students through the flood of digital information that confronts them on a daily basis.

So as you know I'm just learning this Ning thing myself - I think you just follow Frank Baker's lead - you can just blog or you can do like Erika and Kristin did and start your own discussion thread in the "forum" under one of the catagories I've already created - whichever mode you think would be most applicable and useful for the group as a whole - I'm going to try and highlight things one of these weeks so that if people don't check new posts the bouncing blog will direct people to it.... I honestly don't know yet which way makes more sense...
BTW have you seen the new Mini-Marvels series -

the little dudes will HEART them.
RRG:)
I know nothing about that film and I guess Amazon sent me a promo e-mail - they must have decided - if you like books you might like THE LIBRARIAN (sounds dirty, eh?)
I'm interested in use of media, Web 2.0 for curriculum-related purposes - what kind of projects/activities are you doing related to reading, information literacy...or ?
Hi Kelly,
It looks like we should have a more substantive conversation - I'd love to know more about all of them. I'll be at ALA until July 15th - can I call you after that?
Hey Kelly - can you post your street lit links in the A lit discussion forum and maybe copy and paste them in the librarian group. Those resources are too good to get buried on the comment wall! Hope you're cool! RRG:)
Hey Kelly, I sent you an email a couple of weeks ago but I'm not sure you're getting any of them from me or that I even have the correct address. Also posted to your FB wall...

It sounds like you're a school librarian - I'm looking for stories about use of media by school librarians for a chapter I'm writing...?
