What 5 essential pop culture artifacts (CDs, DVDs, Books, Images, Toys, etc.) would you have on your desert island?
Geez, hard to decide. but here goes a first draft:
*My 1960s-era Viewmaster, which showed me images of the world (or access to the electronic database of National Geographic)
*A multi-generational photo album to show our American psyche (or access to the Library of Congress American Memory collection)
*A DVD (or digitized version) of the complete works of The Ed Sullivan Show, Saturday Night Special, Saturday Night Live, Johnny Carson Show, the complete PBS archive, MTV, VH1and BET to show our musical, comedy, and national interests heritage
*An Amazon Kindle device (or the newest development like it) with thousands of books, including every genre-- literary and popular--and images of all the major art galleries in the world
*A teddy bear with a quilt on a sled to remind us of the joys of childhood and simple pleasures
