Making Curriculum Pop

Hey Am Lit Folks,

Was reading the New Yorker this morning and read a fascinating article about Edgar Allan Poe. In related resources there is a great German short film (overdubbed in English) by Hannes Rall of "The Raven." The director has his storyboards online but not the actual short. If you want copy of it there was this great DVD mag in the late 90s early 00s by Warner Brother's called Short - Vol. #9 "Trust" is still available used on Amazon and includes Hannes' film.

Also most of you probably know that the Simpson's did a retelling of "The Raven" (with James Earl Jones as narrator) in Season #2: Episode 203 "Treehouse of Horror" - not really posted on YouTube but certainly available on DVD at Amazon as well.

From there I found two interesting film versions of the Raven online this morning - you can decide why I found each "interesting."

First is the short techno version:

Second, a pretty interesting version made by an even more interesting dude (read about him here):

Lastly, I STILL haven't gotten out to see this but in the Bronx Historical Society maintains the Poe Cottage. If any of us get out there we'll have to post pics. I guess since it is like 20-minutes from my school, I've got to get out there first, eh?

What cool Poe resources do you have?
