Making Curriculum Pop

I just stumbled upon Gene Yang's article in the Language Arts Journal, "Graphic Novels in the Classroom" - it's a wonderful treatise on why use graphic novels for teaching, in comic form. Go Google it - and it's a PDF download. I can't legally paste it here...

Ryan says it's ok - so I'm pasting it here. Ryan, please post bail if I get into trouble. Mr Yang,if you reading this - it was Ryan's idea. Gene_Yang_article.pdf.

Thanks for the link.  I'll add that to my materials for teaching aspiring teachers.

Yen Yen - can you go to "options" in the right corner and add a good hyperlink for people?  Furthermore, it is ok to share educational things - even a PDF =here under fair use as this is a non-profit educational site with a focus on media education (also see this book Copyright Clarity). Thanks for sharing this great article!

Also, FYI did you know Mr. Yang is an MC POP member?  His page.

This is a great find. Thanks, Yen Yen. I made a similar comic essay called Comic Book Science in 2007. It is focused on using comics to teach science, but I think most of the arguments apply to other disciplines. Hope you find it useful.

Jay you should make that a solo post in the science group - I think those folks would love to see the resource!

Love it!

Bail at the ready - lol - tnx so much for sharing this excellent resource!

Fabulous article!  Thanks for sharing!
