Yes, I saw this, as did a bunch of us I assume. Since nothing in it is new, I wondered a bit about what led the NY Times to decide to print it now... what interests are served by this? Whose interests? How helpful is it to print something like this, with its implicit assumptions about values in curriculum, philosophy of education, and so on, without placing it in such an intellectual and political context? etc., etc. ...Comments, anyone?

I guess my first question would be is Andrew Hacker consulting for anyone in particular?
