Making Curriculum Pop

This is a TED talk about gender representations and media influence.  Colin Stokes asks for more movies that send positive messages to boys: that cooperation is heroic, and respecting women is as manly as defeating the villain.

thanks Frank! This is a very interesting lecture…

I have not yet watched movies like “Wreck-It Ralph” and “Brave”, but I already noted many indications of gender stereotyping in the animation/fantasy productions aimed at youth and children, despite their appearance of modern representations (we usually have one only female heroine, and friendship usually is only between male characters etc.).

I didn't know Colin Stokes nor TED.com, now I’m going to add them to my favorites!
