MUSIC: "The Galaxy Song"

I was having a chat our Aussie blogger Susan Stephenson (the Book Chook) over in the math group. I had done a post about Monty Python's star Terry Jones' great PBS documentary "The Story of One"

This lead Susan to suggest using "The Galaxy Song" to explore science fact vs. the lyrics.

 

She even found this great BBC site that would help students explore the accuracy of the song.  

Does anyone use the Pythons to teach any science already?

I forwarded this to a friend who teaches Earth Science at my school and was wondering why you posted the lyrics version rather than the original from the series until I watched it and realized I'd forgotten about the "birthing" part...

Yeah, it is probably easier to stick with the lyrics solo :) LOL.
