Making Curriculum Pop

I seem to have been running into some fine programming on PBS lately, with some minor exceptions. Having satelitte TV means I no longer only watch PBS from Boston, but also from Denver or from the West coast. I get to see John Sebastian talk about his favorite folk groups during three different time zones. My wife seems to wonder how I know all the words to Pete Seagar's songs. I just wish I could match the harmonies that Peter Paul and Mary sang.

I especially like the a cappella groups I have run into lately. Straight No Chaser just had me mesmorized. Now that was harmony. In 12 parts!

Then along came this Irish group, celebrating Christmas in their own way. I nearly puked when I heard them singing Dashing thru the Snow. C'mon, there has not been that much snow in Ireland in four hundred years. I think they might have done better without the Gaelic Michael Bolton or the Irish Justin Beiber-look alike.

PBS certainly can be an educational experience.

Mike - you've got to give us some hyperlinks here so we can listen to the sounds your talking about!
