"Reasons HR-40 should be brought to the floor of U.S. Congress" or any of the other issues Coates raises that would fit your course theme or essential question.

I just read this article as well. Well, most of it. Like all Atlantic 10,000 worders, it has a great premise, good research, and several good examples. The Lawndale example is terrific, and could be coupled with a video on predatory lending and scare tactics (which is really why many white folks left "changing neighborhoods" - not because they hated black people). Unfortunately, when someone moving next door to you now represents loss of wealth, people internalized that and start giving people attributes based on no real data.

Thanks for posting about this.
