Making Curriculum Pop

I have no idea what webpage I found this on but came across the image cleaning my iPhoto up this morning. Posted here, as always, for educational use only. I think it is a brilliant illustration of the "what's more important reading vs. math?" debate.

Well, that's a debate I wouldn't participate in. But I think it's a comment on something that is relevant and happens all the time: the presumption that we (teachers, "educational experts," et al.) know what someone is doing or thinking from mere observation with no attempt to interact or speak with the person in question. This is all-too-typical in teacher reactions to student work, as well as to classroom behavior. But teachers are hardly the only folks who do this sort of thing in education.
MPG,

Great point - it might be an even better illustration of the "I know what's in your head" non-debate/thought :)
