Making Curriculum Pop

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to let you know that we've just made the archives of The Media Show available as part of a Kickstarter fundraiser to develop the next few episodes of the show.

Why The Media Show?

  • We cover everything from copyright to billboard ads, online predators to Photoshopping.
  • We model different perspectives on media literacy, so that youth can come to their own decisions rather than just absorbing critique.
  • We focus on specific techniques and jobs within advertising, media, and tech industries, demystifying what goes on inside their walls.
  • High school, community college, and community instructors praise our short (<5 minute) format as great for starting discussions.
  • Accolades: in 2010, we were featured in the Media That Matters film festival, and we've been linked to by BoingBoing, Slashdot, the Electronic Frontier Foundation, and the Free Range Kids blog.

We're currently making available both high-quality DVDs of our entire archives (so you don't have to rely on your campus wifi to load our episodes off of YouTube) AND deluxe sets which also include related links, lesson materials, making-of videos, and examples of the show being deployed in the classroom.

Thanks for your support! Let me know if you have any questions.
