ARTICLE: The Stanford Education Experiment Could Change Higher Learning Forever

I don't know that I can take the time here to address all my issues with initiatives like this and the Khan academy. My quick "from the gut" editorial is that these video models are classic "bad" direct instruction. I realize interactivity and technology can improve and create more student centered learning and I also give these people a ton of credit for the moxie and possibly deeply flawed vision as they are changing the discussion on education. On the flipside, my time spent in many schools at many levels is a painful reminder that many teachers need to dramatically enhance their practice if they are to be better than a computer/video.
