The Horrors of Andersonville

I have just published a new nonfiction book for young as well as adult readers on the Civil War Prison Camp, Andersonville. I'll be doing some author presentations in 2011 to coincide with teh 150th anniversary of the start of the American Civil War. The book has generated much interest and is a Junior Library Guild selection for 2010. I welcome teachers and anyone interested in this angle to the Civil War to visit my website for more information and archival photos. www.catherinegourley.com

HI Catherine. I plan to use your lesson units on Beijing Bicycle and King of Masks with my 10th-12th graders who are studying the Chinese experience in both history and English classes this semester. Ryan suggested I contact you regarding your selection process as there is a good story to that. I would love to hear that and any other info you have that would be pertinent to this study.

Thanks,
Amy Kremer
